Kendall Jenner’s Streak of Subdued Wintry Looks Will Convince You to Buy a Cape

Capes aren’t usually part of a supermodel’s off-duty arsenal. Typically associated with royalty or old money prep, the cape doesn’t often share the limelight with runway It girls when they’re stepping off the catwalk and into street-style territory. Kendall Jenner may be changing that.

The 818 founder has been putting her own sophisticated spin on the old-fashioned outerwear trend with her latest streak of subdued seasonal outfits.

In her latest look, Jenner casually strolled through a Los Angeles alleyway wearing a leather trench coat with an attached cape from Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Both pieces were awash in a warm beige, with the cape’s inner lining featuring a crisp white graphical print. Jenner tied the coat’s belt off into a knot at her waist, then finished off her look with sheer gray tights, black pumps, and a dark brown mini version of the house’s Andiamo crossbody bag (which she expertly styled as a clutch).

Prior to her latest Bottega pap walk, the model shared a look via her Instagram Story of another elegant cape ensemble.

At the time, she opted for a black leather offering from Phoebe Philo. The leather bomber jacket came with its own cropped cape attachment, which Jenner wore wrapped around the top of her torso. She complemented the look with bright white straight-leg jeans and a brown fur-covered black leather tote bag—both of which also hail from Philo—as well as black leather pumps with a kitten heel from the Row.
